Onboard the submarinen USS Bowfin at Pearl Harbor. The American submarine warfare in 1942-45 strongly contributed to the defeat of Japan in the war.
Here I am by two extremes of the Pacific war at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii: in the close background, to be seen dimly, the rust brown hull from the naval war cemetery USS Arizona, sunk in the Japanese attack 7 December 1941. Further back, the battledship USS Missouri, where the Japanese surrender was signed in the Bay of Tokyo 2 September 1945.
